Along the Overseas Highway to the southernmost point of the continental United States are the Florida Keys. These tropical islands are east of the Gulf of Mexico.
Once you make it to the Lower Keys, which is primarily Key West, you'll have tons of options for fun like water sports, Duval Street, the Conch Train, and beautiful sunsets.

DRY TORTUGAS
Ferry over to Dry Tortugas to see Fort Jefferson. This national park is about 70 miles west of Key West. Check our site for tips and prices of the ferry.
In Marathon, be sure to stop by the Sea Turtle Hospital. This is the best place to see Sea Turtles up close. You can even watch their live surgeries if you call ahead!
In the Upper Keys alone, there are 3 state parks to visit. We love John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park for snorkeling, scuba diving, and fun boat tours.
UPPER KEYS STATE PARKS
SNORKELING
Definitely fit in time for snorkeling during your Florida Keys vacation. The beautiful turquoise waters allow you to see tons of fish and other wildlife. This is a must-do in the Keys.
